How to Write 100 Hubs in 30 Days
63So you jumped in and decided to join HubPages' 100 Hubs in 30 Days Challenge. And now that you’ve had time to think it through you’re wondering how the heck you’re going to pull it off, what with all the things you have to deal with every day from your job, doctor’s appointments, vet visits for Fido and your kids’ karate classes.
Not to worry.
Here are a few ideas for how to pull off writing 100 hubs in 30 days.
- Recycle. Blow the dust off other pieces you’ve written before—with the caveat that they should be appropriate for HubPages, you shouldn't have sold all rights to the piece or pieces, and they're things you've written for the offline world (HubPages could penalize you for duplicate content if you try using something that already exists online). You may need to do a little reworking of an essay you wrote for a class, for example, but that’s better than starting from scratch. If you have a whole library or collection of past writings that you haven’t already posted online, now might be the time to break them out.
- What to write about. If you don’t
have a ready-made collection of written materials, you obviously have
more work to do. Start with writing about what you know. A hobby,
your career field, parenting, you catch the drift.
If you think this won’t give you enough material, try breaking down what you know about into sub-topics. For example, if you’re into swimming, you can create an individual hub page for each of the various swimming strokes. If you’re an insurance agent, you can create hub pages for each of the various types of insurance products. A mechanic could create hub pages for each individual component of a car’s engine alone.
- Expand your knowledge. Okay, so you’ve done knitting or computer gaming hub pages to death and you’re still far short of the 100 mark. Now it’s time to get out of your comfort zone a little.
Take a look at the list of HubPages categories and sub-categories for ideas. Do you see a field that may have interested you before but you never had the time to delve into? Well, now is the time. With the Internet, it’s never been easier to research any topic under the sun. Do a few searches, find a few, good respected sources and write away.
Do you have a friend or even an acquaintance who could be considered an “expert” in some field? Does your daughter or brother have a friend or know somebody who is passionate about something? Find that person and interview him or her on their favorite topic. You’d be surprised at the nuggets of knowledge you can unearth this way—not to mention the material for more hub pages.
These are just a few suggestions you can use to create more hub pages. Hopefully, using some of these ideas, you’ll be able to put a dent into that 100-hub page (or 30-hub page) goal over the next 30 days.

I was going to write a hub about every girl I slept with, but then I had to figure what to do with the other 99 hubs.
[Dang -- GT beat me to it; I was going to leave a comment stating that I would have written a hub about every woman I slept with, but then I would have had to figure out what to do with the other 99 hubs. . .]
Oh Teresa, one hub about that is worth a hundred!
(I dunno about that -- I was having a lot of TMJ problems at the time. Cramped my style.)
